Ready Guard deployment assembled in front of an organisation's briefing backdrop

NGO & Development Sector Security in Pakistan

Ready Guard Security Services supports NGOs, international organizations and donor-funded programmes across Pakistan, with concentrations in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Development-sector security is dominated by movement rather than premises, and by accountability rather than force — which is why our reporting is written to satisfy a donor's own security review, not simply to close a shift.

Most Of The Exposure Is On The Move

A development programme's risk is rarely concentrated at the project office gate. It sits in field visits, district travel, staff transport and the moments when a team is somewhere unfamiliar with no rehearsed plan for what happens if the situation changes. That makes journey management — route and timing planning, check-in protocols, communications discipline, an agreed abort threshold and a rehearsed escalation procedure — the centre of the work rather than an add-on.

We build the movement plan alongside the premises plan rather than treating them as separate contracts. Field movement can be supported by escorted vehicles or B6+ armored transport with vetted protective drivers where the assessment supports it, and by quick reaction force cover positioned to actually reach the location rather than nominally cover it on paper.

The corollary is that we will sometimes advise against a movement, or against an armed posture, where the security value does not justify the profile it creates. Development organizations operate on acceptance as much as protection, and a heavy visible escort can cost more in community relations than it buys in safety. That judgement is part of what we are being paid for.

Reporting That Survives A Donor Review

Donor-funded organizations are accountable upward in a way most commercial clients are not. Security arrangements get examined by the programme's own security adviser, by the donor's compliance function, and sometimes by an external audit — and what they examine is documentation: vetting records, training content and hours, incident logs, movement records, use-of-force policy and the contractor's labour and human rights position.

Our ISO 18788:2015 certification is directly relevant here, because it is the international management standard for private security operations and it covers exactly those areas. Our SMETA SEDEX audit covers labour practices, health and safety, environment and business ethics — increasingly a precondition rather than a differentiator for donor-linked buyers. Named personnel lists, verification records, documented post orders and structured incident reporting are provided as standard rather than on request.
